Expecting a Second! | My West Texas Family

While these photos are more than long overdue, I decided to get them up as a Congratulations to my brother and his wife Jenn. They are expecting number two in a few more months! You’d think it might be cool to have someone in the family so trigger happy with a camera, but most of the time I get so busy that I don’t come back around to the important things as often as I should. And Jenn has handled my slow turn around for photos in the family with such patience. I can’t thank you enough pretty girl. I hope you guys enjoy these …

Susan Dowdy | Fashion and Home Living

Meet Susan Dowdy. She is beautiful; stunning actually. Back in the Spring, I had a couple of fashion photoshoots for a product line that wanted to go above and beyond. The client kept mentioning they wanted a classic look and Susan’s simple elegance was all that filled my thoughts. Nothing else was quite as perfect. I sifted through the backlog of agency models and just couldn’t get past the idea that Susan, my friend and roommate, was the perfect fit for this shoot. I called her up, popped the question [not that question] and she was down. I love the way her photos turned out and …

Koh Tao Island, Thailand Sunset | WallPapers

Finally having a blog that works how I want it to is making all the difference in my interest level to post. My treasure chest of photoshoots, design, travel photos, ideas, and freebies is about to burst at the seams and finally, I can share them in a place I enjoy existing. What you are looking at is a real sunset down on the island of Koh Tao in Southern Thailand. A mid January evening [this year] produced this breathtaking sky that put me in a state of calm so vivid I can reproduce it in my mind every time I close my eyes. I …

Creative Craze | Megan Gray of Circles Conference

I went to the Circles Conference in Grapevine [DFW Area] this past week and still haven’t come down off the elation of being around that many talented people at one time. Thanks to another beautiful mind, Ismael Burciaga who puts on this entire conference, one of the first people I met turned out to be someone I instantly gravitated towards. Her name is Megan Gray, and she is a graphic designer out of Orange County. Humble to say the least, this crazy talented girl was so much fun to be around. I snapped a couple shots of her before she got the “deer in the headlights” …

Themed Birthday Party “Where The Wild Things Are”

“The little things” made all the difference at a recent themed birthday party. Finnley had his friends over to celebrate his second birthday and his decorations were outstanding! I knew the moment I met his wonderparents, Sarah and Steve, that this party was going to be a good one. Themed, “Where The Wild Things Are”, these little beauties had all kinds of festivities to get into. A big air castle outside kept them running rampant which had to have led to some long naps later in the day! The thing that sticks out the most to me from this particular shoot is the undeniable closeness …

A Second To Breathe

I’m crazy about music. It’s a rare time when an addictive personality is a good thing. I once had a neighbor write a note and tuck it nicely into my doorframe; “Maigen, I really like the song you’ve been playing but I can’t stand to hear it another time. Try something else?” Oops. I need to blog tonight just to blog, to purge my brain from the storm of projects I’ve had the past two months. I decided to instate a new policy; The inclusion a song from my musical treasure chest: SoundCloud, in each post. It’s been a year and ten days since I …
